Holy shit! A new Colours mix! A new album art style! Exclaimation points!!!!
It’s been awhile since I had time to put a mix together but I think you’ll enjoy this. It’s a mix of (mostly) new Canadian Hip-Hop, Breaks and Vocal Trance-influenced Dubstep. I put a lot of tracks in here from the Backburner crew plus a new single from Tiggz.
If you like the hip-hop section on this mix and you live near Toronto, Canada you should come join me for the Wordburglar album release party for 3rdburglar at El Mocambo on May 11, 2012. Tell ‘em TCG Sterling sent you.

Colours Out of Space Update
Still no new mix I realise. I’ve decided to try a new strategy with the mixes. It requires me to be careful and meticulous with each song and transition. So Colours Out of Space will be out eventually, but it’ll no longer be every week but every mix I do will be next to perfect (or at least I’ll try :) )
TCG Sterling - Colours Out of Space 53 (Vocal Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Electro, Grime)
This is a mix of light vocal dubstep, hip-hop remixes and some drumstep and electro smashers.
It’s been a long time since I released anything and now I feel like I’m utterly out of practice with the art, but this turned out better than I thought it did while mixing. I don’t know how cooperative life is going to be but I plan to force it into giving me more time for doing Colours out of Space.
DJ Distinction - Electrocity
I was busy with a family event all weekend, but I’ve got a bangin’ electro mix to share from DJ Distinction. I discovered her work through Tumblr (give a follow), great mix of thrashy electro with a bit of a drumstep feel at times, with hip-hop punctuation.
If you like this, check out the rest of her mixes on Soundcloud.
Colours Out of Space will return for next week.
TCG Sterling - Colours Out Of Space 52 (Drumstep, Dubstep, Electro)
With all the drumstep I came across lately, I couldn’t resist the urge for another mix of face smashing basslines and electro thrashery.
This week was full of milestones for me, I’ve now hit 52 mixes, which despite it taking over a year in real time, I consider a year’s worth of mixes. I’ve been podcasting for 6 years and it’s the fastest I’ve reached this quantity of episodes. Last time I got this far with a podcast, it took me 3 years! I’ve also crossed the 500 000 total downloads mark which far exceeds the popularity of anything else I’ve ever created online.
Thank you to every single person who’s listened before and especially to those of you who keep listening or comment on the Colours Out of Space Facebook page. Here’s to another 52 episodes!
TCG Sterling - Colours Out Of Space 51 (Breaks, House, Dubstep, Electro)
I felt like I was forgetting about the breaks over the last few weeks. So this is an attempt to fuse some breaks into this Electro, Dubstep, DnB vibe I seem to have going on in the last few mixes. I hope you enjoy this one.

TCG Sterling - Colours out of Space 50 (Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electro, Drumstep)
Retro video game-inspired electro and dubstep for the first half then straight drum and bass for the last hour. It’s warming up around Toronto, which makes me think about summer. Summer means drum and bass.

Here is a recording of my set played on March 25, 2011 (though it was probably the beginning of March 26 at the time I started).
Three hours of music for your listening pleasure, it’s got electro, dubstep, drum and bass, house and all the flavours you’d expect from a Colours out of Space mix, if a little bit more disorganized than usual.
I don’t know if I’m going to bother with a tracklist, since my prepared one went out the window 4 songs in and from the point on I was just winging it.
If you’re looking for a track name, give me the timecode and I’ll figure it out for you. Thanks to everyone at the party for your suggestions, track recommendations and your dancing.
If you’re looking for more music like this I’d suggest you go like Colours Out of Space on Facebook for a new mix every week.
Guest mix: Hard dubstep from Dubplate Professor
I’ve been extraordinarily busy this week with the day job, plus I’ve been prepping for another private show a party (sorry). I’m not entirely sure if I’ll be able to do a new Colours out of Space mix this weekend.
Just in case I can’t do it, I’m going to share this awesome mix that was sent to me by a fellow Tumblr, DJ and Canadian, Dubplate Professor.
TCG Sterling - Colours Out Of Space 49 (Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Glitch, Drumstep)
Hard dubstep, drum & bass, drumstep plus a lot of glitchy and bassy hip-hop.

TCG Sterling - Colours Out Of Space 48 (Funky House, Electro, Dubstep, Fidget, Hip-Hop)

TCG Sterling - Colours Out of Space 47 (Drum & Bass, Dubstep)
Scratching that Amen itch with some bouncy drum and bass, with some dark dubstep for flavour and then I added neurofunk and darkstep for variety.
